It appears that in BF3 you don't always see the ememy on the HUD like in BF2 when the UAV was up flying over a flag ESPECIALLY on the DM server. In fact, it seems on the DM server you see only some enemies and not all, but on conquest/flag servers you see them only if someone points them out. What gives? Can someone explain por favor?
If I understand correctly, I think the MAV needs to be aimed at a certain location and only doritos that it is aimed at show up? dunno man
HUD, "HEADS UP DISPLAY". I'm sure that isn't the correct term, but it is all my little brain could come up with.
First: HUD (Heads Up Display) is the small area in the right hand corner of your screen, it shows your ammo and health percentage. The area in the left hand corner is called the mini map and I guess were talking about that one since the HUD doesn't show any enemy at all.. ^^ As already correctly noted: only people that fire an unsilenced gun or those that have been actively spotted will show up there. When people get passively spotted by MAV or TUGS they will "blip up" for a short time. These devices work as a motion detector and can be fooled by passing them in crouch or prone stance. The MAV gives you the option to actively spot someone. To actively spot you need to point in the subject's direction and press Q. This will light people up for a longer time. Proximity sensors on vehicles are not motion detectors but seem to work on bodyheat. You cant hide from them by going crouch or prone and they will show you on the minimap anytime you are near.
Also, when playing in our deathmatch server, enemies surrounding the crane can not be spotted with a MAV
