vid card settings

try copying the game again from desktop, then let us know.. if it still doesnt work by then then it is something else, not the game, i bet that should work out

Delete your player folders, all of em.
"Cod2mainplayersxxx"
On the next start cod2 will force you create
a new profile, do that set your settings,
quit the game DO NOT LOAD A MAP.

Load the game and play on.
