New WoW Server

I have setup a WoW server, and it is in testing phase. If things are still running in 2 weeks, I will consider it Stable.

It is Running Mangos 0.6 with the LATEST POSSIBLE database updates as of 1800EST Dec 16th.

If, you wish to try/test it out, you will need to meet the following requirements...

1) WoW 1.12.1 unaltered- This is important. If you are playing on a server that required you to Install a Hack Patch, you will not be able to connect and will most likely have to reinstall the game. If you havent installed WoW yet make sure that you copy your World Of Warcraft install after it is patched to 1.12.1 and rename one of the folders. Doing this will allow you to play on servers require the hackpatch as well as a standard install.

2) edit the file titled "realmlist.wtf" in your World of Warcraft folder. remove the "us.logon.whatever.com" and replace it with worldownage.net


3) create an account at http://worldownage.net/wow/ -Browser should not matter. If you get an error, let me know. You should still be able to make an account even if the server is offline.


4) connect using your newly created account and password.

-If you get an "unable to validate" error, you have a wrong version or corrupt files and will have to reinstall. Simply Using a 1.12.1 .exe file without the correct files will not work.

-if it loads and sits at the Character Creation screen, stuck with a window that says "Connected - cancel" click cancel and reselect the Realm. That should bring you to your load screen where you can create a character.

-If that still doesn't work, or you get other errors, let me know.

as i mentioned earlier, this is testing for 2 weeks. If after that, it is deemed to be stable, I will keep it running and recreate anyone's character from ZR's that wishes it. Please do not ask me to do that before then.

As part of the testing, you may wish to be leveled to where you are on ZR now, simply to test spells and abilities that did not work. Like me, 14 spells + totems at lvl44 that dont work. I can level you up and give you the cash needed to buy your spells/abilities, but your character will be reset to after 2 weeks.

I cannot guarantee that this server will stay up.

Or just change the WoW folder you already have installed to say "World of Warcraft - ZR" or something similiar, then reinstall WoW, install the 1.12.1 patch, edit the file titled "realmlist.wtf" in your World of Warcraft folder. remove the "us.logon.whatever.com" and replace it with worldownage.net , create an account at the already provided link , and become enslaved like the rest of us. This server Version is more bugged than ZR's and unless something big changes, It will not be staying up.

Seems to be looking up a bit with a new database and a whole shitload of fixes released not that long ago so it may have a slightly brighter future.

anwho...Mangos version 1.0 is released 12/31/2006 and supposed to be "the next big launch" perhaps the biggest.

They've been working on it since september, so they better have it better than what it is now.

compatible with Legit WoW 2.01 and The Burning Crusades.

perhaps we'll see...
