personally i use a free-base program for 3d and just convert it to the .3ds format (for 3ds Max) Wings 3D - http://www.wings3d.com/ aint gonna teach ya how to use it but id like to look into the mod tools.. brb.. goin to check it out imp:
I liked map Bocage from COD1... is there any way to convert it for COD2? It has long distances for sniping, but close combat action is needed as well...
Well, see that 3 differnet people, including myself can't get the stupid program to work, I'm gonna have to go with no. ha ha, I really wish I could figure this out.
fresh install of CoD2. NO mods whatsoever. .NET Check modsonline.com for all the solutions to these problems
I've tried all that. I download and installed .net framework 3. updated directx files/driver, that didn't work. so I uninstalled COD and modtools, deleted them from registy and then did fresh installs of both and still doens't work. I know that my video card won't do shader. so the 3d preveiw of the mod tools won't show textures, but I did the small map tut. and it works fine and I can test play it. I just can't open any files.... EDIT: I'm buyin a new video card in a week or so, then I'll try it again.. EDIT 2: I've look around for awhile and I only found the issue I'm having a few time and they didn't explain much. Must people get errors and mine locks up opening maps.
wait. so, it only freezes when you go to run the .map file? maybe your map has errors in it. any overlapping, holes, lack of spawn points, etc would cause errors. any chance you could host your .map file for me to look at? 3d view is going to be essential.
no no no, when you install modtools, it comes with 4 map files. I can't open any of those. I can make a map from scratch and save it and compile it and it will play in COD. I didn't however try to reopen that file. but I can't open any of the map file in #13.iwi file under xmodel folder( I can't remember what the file is called.)
im just havin troubles with everything.. some tut i was lookin at (how to make a small map) instructed to use caulk.. well i go to textures>locale>(anything) and it locks up. if i open a map. boom locks up.. even select any texture and it locks up.. cant even see any "default" texture.. kinda sucks hardcore if you know what i mean :Bucktooth:
does it lock up on you or does an error pop up?? Mine is Program quit responding error. I tested it and I CAN open the small map I made, but it's only 5kb. I CAN load the other test maps, IF I slide the load screen all the way up so thats all I see and nothing else. After it loads, as soon as I try to lower the divider bar, it locks. So, maybe my video card is the problam after all. I'll find out in a few weeks when I get my new card.
i get the windows program not responding error.. and i dont see why it locks up if all im doin is bringin up a popup menu.
Yea, I don't understand it, If it was just my computer I could see it being nothing, but when 3-4 people can't use it, seems alil weird..
mine wont work for shit... im outta this maping a map thing ... wonder if theres a way of making it thru 3d max
I've been lookin around alil bit inside the DLL file and just wonder are you guys running Internet Explorer 7 ????
