Hello taints I need to get a new graphics card for my old rig due to a large amount of bitching I'm having to endure from others. I'm looking to spend less than $100 because I'm cheaper than a Thai hooker. I think a significant upgrade should be able to happen however due to the fact that it currently has a geforce 5700 ultra 128mb card that was probably nice in 2003 but doesn't really cut it anymore. If anyone has any input it would be appreciated.
So, what is better, AGP or PCI. I think I read somewhere that PCI is better. I ask cause I'm about to buy a new card also.
Most 6600GTs are about $100. I've got one and it runs most things on medium or high. With CoD2 specifically, I have everything on high (or max), albeit with DX7 rendering. If you want to spend a bit more, I would definitely recommend something in the 7600 series or wait for the new 8000 series cards. You mean PCIe, right?
if the card is pci-e look for a 7300GT or better. I just got an asus 7300GT for a customer that has SLI and seems to be a decent card. id stay away from ATI, but since AMD got involved, their drivers are a lot better.

i have a 128 MB ATI i see and i have no problems with it not even when i watch for a full porn movie...called kr0me goes anally ^o)
Actually I have been giving myself daily injections of the "Source" engine while playing Day of Defeat: Source. This game is nothing like COD2, but hell of a good time. I needed a WWII fix while COD2 is broken (for me ). I will try to get on right now...and see what happens.
