well im starting this thread to try and better understand the in-game settings...i have read all of the online "tweakguides" and things like that but im wondering what you guys prefer.

i think for the most part i have almost everything set on high exept for shadows, and things like that. i guess im just trying to get a better looking game where i can see people more easily(if that means lowering my texture resolutions or changing the model texture)

when i go to the texture settings and go to optimal, it sets everythong to extra(highest possible) yea i have a pretty nice comp now but performance is not what im looking for now, im looking for seeing people from fa distance, not mixing up textures with people, and things like that

i guess u could consider this a help me help you section, whoch i think would be good for everyone.

umm i guess i can take a screen shot of something and post it..then we can compare/contrast. i think i need to have this pic uploaded somewhere to show it..if someone could host it, ill send it.

You can host images at www.imageshack.us for free and link them or include them in your post. What are your current settings, and what are you hoping to achieve? Most people seem to set their settings based on a good frame rate, and tweak them to achieve that. All depends on your hardware.

    2 gb ram
    x1300 video card

    extra on all settings
    4x anti-alias
    direct x 7

excellent graphics (seeing far too) as well as excellent FPS..
as badass said and i added to.... who cares about high graphics if you only see a few frames of it anyways.. its all about the frames man

If your looking for better FPS, you will want all your textures on low not extra

im sorry maybe i didnt make myself clear enough. i dont have a problem with fps, i have a problem with seeing enemies... people get mixed in with bushes, fog, and smoke.. and i have seen some screen shots that help that out.

is your rendering method preference set to directx 7?

i find that the lower the textures are, the easier it is to see people in bushes because the change from the bush texture to the people is clearly visible..

also if you have it as directx 9 it will blend better.. makin it harder to see enemies.. try DX 7 if you have 9..

PrntScrn image is stored on your clipboard untill you paste it into MS Paint
you can then save it out from there
