please help

    ok

    i have some program blocking my http port, port 80. i am guessing that this is what is going on because i cannot browse i the "internets" however i can play COD even tough it take 5 minutes to start up now

    other problem that occured at the same time is i uninstalled one of my network adapters but when reinstall the drivers it get an error saying access denied

    also CMD.exe starts as well as an install for some tool bar. when ever this happens my network adapter gets busy


    some one please help

    seriously though, have you tried an earlier restore point for shits and grins? if anything it may get rid of the network adapter part of your problem.

    Hmmmmmmmmmm .... let me give you an AOL tech support tip. Have you restarted your computer? :D

    Anyways, I can't help you man. Try uninstalling and reinstalling random shit ... that seems to work for me.

    Note to self: never let Yourmother ba an admin :)

    ::Start the infected PC and boot into Safe Mode with Networking, as some spyware can only be removed in Safe Mode.

    ::Turn off System Restore on Windows XP/ME systems.

    ::Open Add/Remove programs and remove any application that you do not recognize and/or deem to be spyware.

    ::Install a licensed antivirus product. Update and run it on the infected system. I use AVG Free edition.

    ::Install Spybot–Search & Destroy (freeware available at safer-networking.org/en/). Update and run it on the infected system.

    ::Install one, if not two, antispyware products such as Microsoft Anti-Spyware, Ad-Aware from Lavasoft. Update and run them on the infected system.

    ::Download HijackThis (freeware used to detect browser hijakers that's available at hijackthis.de/), start it and click the "Do a system scan and save a logfile" button.

    ::Analyze your HijackThis log at the HijackThis Web site above.

    ::Use HijackThis to remove anything in the "Nasty" category.

    ::Reboot and run Spybot-S&D and the antispyware products you've installed until the system is clean. You may have to run them more than one.

    ::Launch Internet Explorer and browse the Web to verify your Internet connection was not broken while removing any spyware. If you cannot browse the Web, run LSPfix OR WinSock XP Fix(both free) to repair Winsock 2 settings. Perform another test.

    ::Turn on System Restore.

    ::Backup the system and destroy the previous backup, as this will be infected with spyware.

    ::Excuse the googled support, but that is basic enough. Buy a fucking Mac if that does not help.
