ok heres my situation.... uo fails to give me a decent fps. im talking it dips into the 30's sometimes 29. back in the day i averaged high 70's with a 6600gt im running a 7900gs right now, and nothing else has changed. same exact resolutions, same exact hardware. it is independent of 1. what max fps is set at. its at infinite right now 2. vsync on or off. although if i have a refresh rate of 30 hz then i have a bigger problem 3. resoultion the game runs at (640x480 is the same result as 1600x1080) the best i can come up with is that it is a driver problem. but seeing as the 7900 drivers are very recent, if they did something that screwed with the UO interoperability i wont be able to go far back enough to fix it. i used to run on an older monitor, however even running on that is the issue. im half tempted to put the old 6600 in to see what the result is. anyone got any ideas?
i dunno what the problem is i get 125 avg with ALL the highest settings at 1280x1024... maybe different drivers or the feb redist directx http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en btw im running 97.92 from tweaksrus.com on a 6800gs
lolz yeah, your fps will never go higher than your refresh rate when you have sync turned on... ie 60hz=60fps or 75hz=75fps etc
this is what ur thinking fps= first person shooter this is what were talking about fps=frames per second READ THE FUCKING FORUM don't get mad at me for pointing it out
haha, yea, the joke ran it's course in a matter of one stupid post. booooooo. that one has some great potential too.

much fucking worse has been posted here than anything fuzion posted, anyone remember the fucking nutsack dismemberment video? fuzion is aces in my book, and these youngin's are being given too much pull around here lately while the eldest and most respected members are falling by the wayside due to lack of communication and harsh, split-second decision making without proper diplomatic discussion. i formally request the bullshit cease immediately and henceforth; shake hands and rub taints you assholes before i have to make yet another speech. come back to me fuzion my love, i miss you already. Following upon the original topic i am having the same problem as well as truck. No matter what i cannot get above 35 frames even looking at the sky with absolute minimum settings yet somehow when i max the settings out i get the exact same framerates. I can play COD2 on maxed DX7 settings with 40-70 fps on average so i dont see why i cannot get above 30 and average 10-15 on the ground in UO.
Dunno if you use nvidia cards, but this may be of benefit: Try using nhancer to set openGL to "general compatibility" as well as setting the Driver Extension limit to 11a8 In the 'Performance' settings, set 'Dynamic Lights' to 'None'. I also found that setting 'Texture Filtering' to 'High Quality' in the Nvida control panel made things look noticeably better (as expected), but also boosted performance in older games like COD UO. Hope this helps
