I'd like to record a few seconds of a typical UAN game .. any other idea than pressing F12 every milisecond?

When your in a game, hit ~ to go into the console and type /record and you should see something about recording in the lower left part of the screen under the Hud. then when your done go into the console again ( ~ ) and type /stoprecord. Demo's are saved in the demos folder in the uan2cod2 folder.

Is there anyway to convert the COD2 demo vids into an .avi format?

And yes...running fraps while playing slows your shit down tremendously...

ummm... I use fraps. C'mon.. its a demo, its not like you run it while you are playing! Convert, shut Fraps down then used editor of choice (Virtual Dub works quick and dirty)

like art said.. fraps just takes whatever is on screen.. then converts it.. so you put a demo on screen and TADA! and you still played as bad as normal..
