hey all i like to say that i like playing in uan .. but i first had 115 ping here which is very good for me to play with.. and now i have 160 ping here :angry2: its te same ip and i have the same ip.. does anybody know how i can turn this low again? i already tried installing cod2 again man.. i have to shoot like 3 meters in front of my enemy if i want to hit him :angry2: if anyone knows what to do. please tell me greetz Evil Genius
get drunk and play :drunk: or try to use only cod2 and nothing else, and see what happens than, and a wireless connection gives you higher ping..atleast it does it to my connection it goes up to 145 then
yea i got it too but i got lower ping now with the 72. server i got like 150 and evil 120 and now i got on the 8. server i got 130 ping and evil 150 so.. i dont know maybe somethings wrong with evils pc or connection..
Could be a bottleneck in the Internet, Spyware, Torrents or other Downloads, ect. For best performance, don't have anything downloading while you play. Also, anything that updates every so often (Desktop weather programs, itunes, virus protection, a million other little programs) can in combination cause you to lag, so just try to keep things to the bare minimum.
it really sucks balls when your ping is variable though just when you get adapted, it fucking changes and screws everything up
yea i know.. but my ping is like 150 minimun.. and gets to 170 and i dont have download programms running when i play. i do have McAfee ( anti virus ) on.. but it doesnt scan things when i play maybe i have something downloaden from another server which has turned my ping up? maybe somthing in the main map?
maybe u should delete all downloaded maps from other servers except from uan and try again.. maybe that will work
doesnt matter if it doesnt scan.. it is still using valuable ram.. mine uses 24,000 kb +.. close down your AV and im sure you will get less lag.. then when done gaming just turn it back on
get rid off McAfee and get Kaspersky..... uhm i still have 135 ping and thats fine by me.. dont know why it has changed by you, maybe it could be something in your cod2 settings.. like which connection you have selected
i had kaspersky , but it was a very strong anti virus programm.. it wouldnt download a few things for cod2 because " they could be dangerous" lol. i got my internet connection at the highest. i think thats DSL or something my cod2 settings are: 1024x768 4x anti aliasing billiniear direct x7 texture are all "extra high" and i got nvidia gefroce 6600 something..
i mean at multyplayer options and than connection, you can choose between ISDN or LAN/Cable/DSL. dont know if that works but you can try you are such a retard
drop it to "high" as well as make sure your AV is off.. ive got 2 gigs of ram and running AV slows down mine.. so 1 gig would do the same
i dont run any antivirus or antispyware on my gaming box if you must run one i would suggest Symantec corporate edition as it only uses about 4MB RAM (34MB with realtime protection on) on my server (from which i am writing this) i have these tasks running and still game without a problem: whatpulse autokick azureus peerguardian msn live messenger no-ip responder blackice server edition tightvnc server ip gateway emailer apache, php, mysql daemon tools lexmark print server symantec corp filezilla ftp server VIA RAID monitor vmware server lol and firefox uses more ram than all of those put together (140MB) all this on a pentium D 3.4GHZ 1GB DDR2 NV 7800GTX AGP 2X320GB SATA RAID 0
Ugh Pentium D! XO Anyways, drop the anti aliasing, because you simply wont be able to tell the difference when running DirectX 7 anyways. 90% of lag in games is brought about by ones settings. The first thing you should always try is to simply drop everything you can to the lowest settings possible so that you can truly determine if it is your pc or your connection. In this event however, it sounds like your connection. DSL = Fail.. Cable and Fiber Optic = Win...
