So last night Van gave me a lubve job on why I bought 4GB of RAM since Vista only sees 3GB in the 32 bit version. What would be the advantage/disadvantage of me installing a 64bit version of Vista? Or is their a 64bit version of XP?
Here's my chip: http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLA9V So it looks like my chip would support it:
most of the chips that have come out for the last 3 years will support 64 bit.. but like you saw, there is a real lack of programs taking advantage of it. believe some of the new games coming out may be supporting 64 though. know they even came out with a patch to take the original far cry up to 64. the result? people wernt that impressed....
Until software is developed "as" 64 bit... hardware will always be bottlenecked. Get the 32 bit for now...and get the 3 gigs of RAM. You will be very happy.
