Cannot turn PB on

Hi guys maybe someone can help me....

I have deleted my old profile in COD2 because i wasn't able to change my nick since i wanted to put my tag.

Now so far everything is good...new profile...new name excellent.

The problem is that on my new profile PB is off. When i try to turn it on the game crashes.
I can't play on other servers..i get kicked cause PB is off.

How do i correct this.

Is it possible that the UAN skin/mod is causing this problem? And if this is so, how do i get rid of the skin?

i tried both and did not work.
Any other ideas before i re install ?

read th thread of when I had the same problem.

I tried everything and the only thing that finally worked cost money.

I had to purchase and download a program called "uniblue registry 2" that fucker fixed that and a bunch of other little prblems i had.

if you are able to undo the delete or if you still have a working profile, i can help you out..

if not, try uninstalling punkbuster a & b (should have an uninstaller somewhere on evenbalance..) and then doing a fresh reinstall of call of duty 2 (uninstall completely and reinstall), then reinstall punkbuster via the installer on evenbalance..

Yea I had this problem too a while ago, after a couple of times reinstalling cod2 and updating pb it worked. Never found out what was causing it.

well i have a little idea...i think its Xfire that fucks it up...because i get an error message from Xfire everytime i try to turn PB on during a game.
I'm working night shifts until thursday so i don t think i will be able to try anything before that, but i will let you know

ow yea I remember that one too damn xfire. Try running cod2 without xfire if that works you'll know its xfire

Well i had to re-install COD2 cause the new server had PB on and could not get in. I still think it is a conflict between Xfire and PB. :argue:

Now everything works fine.

does pb work when you disable xfire?

I tried to run the game while Xfire was disabled but it did the same thing...and still got an xfire error message!!!!! My next step was going to uninstall xfire and try to run the game...but lost patience and re-installed COD2 instead...now it runs great.
