C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles Back up this folder if you need to reinstall windows. I am going to reinstall windows now and I had to find out what file(s) to backup. So, I hope this will help any of you that need this answer now or in the future. Just copy it to another (safe) location like a thumbdrive or external hard drive, then reinstall windows and COD4 and then copy this folder back into the game directory. You should be all set. Later.
I just reinstalled Windows...and almost done with COD4. I am about to try "importing" my profile back into COD4... We shall see. I will keep you guys posted... Update: YES!!! It worked... Just move the whole "Player" Folder over to the fresh install and everything is the same. Settings, Ranks, name, etc. It worked on mine like a charm! And this Topic was already pinned...

OOOORRRRR, Back-up the whole damn folder ( C:\Program Files\Activision\Call Of Duty 4\ ) to an external HDD or Network resource, and after re-installing winders, copy it back create your shorties to the network, run your game & re-enter your key. Donzio. X
Orrrrr when your MPdata switches to MPData.corrupt... Just rename it back to mpdata, and fire up the game. X
