So, I have some problems with running games on my vista. CSS (torrented), doesn't work on my vista... I think this was a major issue for a lot for vista owners out there. Hellgate London, doesn't work either. and C&C First Decade (bought) doesn't work on my vista. I tried looking everywhere, system requirement sites, etc. still nothing helped. Only games working on my vista right now is Call Of Duty 4, Enemy Territory - QUAKE Wars, Counter Strike 1.6, RainbowSix3 - RavenShield... and that's it. my vista is: Intel
Did you try to set the games installer files to XP compatibility mode? Although I'm not an Intel fan, your CPU should have no issues running anything on the market today. I'll try to leave XFire open tomorrow if you need some help. X
vista sucks as it takes a ton of your gpu. at least it did for me. after 10 months I eventually went back to XP because I got tired of dual booting.
I didn't upgrade my computer to a vista, it was built vista from the beginning. I have two computers, a vista and a xp. Sorry if I confused you up there. hum... yeah I always wondered about this. I some computers that run xp and vista are able to play CSS, but pure vistas can't.
try right click the games in question the ngoto properties and select xp sp2 compatibility mode and also make sure it is checked to run as admin
Its not your processor, because there maybe not many multi-threaded apps out there, so if it cant run 4 cores simultainously it will swich to 1, 2 or 3 etc ie the same as a dual core if neessary. I would say it is your GPU because it is a tremendosly rubbish card, all the 8400, 8600 seris can do well is HD. Get a new GPU ie the top end of the Nvidia 8xxx series or the new AMD 38xx cards
not long since built this computer when i turn it of normally windows shuts down 2 seconds later it reboots itself anyone know the cause
not always, it would be better to try windows "Classic" theme and also check for: viruses, malware, spyware etc
