Server Setup

We are having a huge LAN party in college station this Friday. i was wondering if anyone can help me setup a hardcore server almost exactly like the UAN server and tell me how to configure the server. If any one can help me set up and edit the server files i would greatly applicate it.

Since the Hardcore game mode is stock and ranked, there isn't much you can customize.

isn't there a .cfg file i can customize. I have four computers and i want to set on up as a dedicated server. isn't there a file i can change everything instead of the in game server?

im fairly sure you didnt read what fuzion just posted.. READ IT.. as far as setting up to be almost exactly like UAN, we cant do that.. if we were to give away our exact settings, we would be outa business..

I understand that you can't give me the server setup for UAN but i find it very hard to believe that you can't customize hardcore at all because y'all have been talking about all the things you can change such as how to change the helicopter damage and so on in hardcore. i am looking to setup a hardcore server with no respawn time and helicopter's have more armor and this will not be a Internet server this will only be for a LAN this Friday. Also does anyone on here live in or around College Station? Also do i use a mod or do i run it in regular mode?

If you run the game in a mod then you will be able to change all the variables you want. If you want the game ranked then you can change a few (very few) cvars.

Here's some info for the still ranked mode:
What I can tell you is make the respawn time 1 (not zero).
I don't remember the cvar for the helo damage but that should be fairly easy to find (I'll get back to you if you like).
Speed can be changed too. Just increase the number to what you like.

Really after that it's waaay to technical to share with you. This three variables should give you a UAN-like feel.

make the respawn -1 to get 0 on hardcore... i forgot the cvar..
helo damage is also one that i dont know but could find out for you..
g_speed is the command for speed.. i think ours is somewhere around 35/27ths of stock speed.. if you could figure that out.. lol.. default is 100 i think..

if you give me til tomorrow, i could blank out our config with all the commands you will need and you can config it for yourself..

nop im still in high school but im aiming for that... ur idea of rentin for 50$ is pretty cool... but that means we wont b able to play on friday night man...

haha i am fine with the scripting part of the server i don't need the .cfg files i need to know how to set it up cause when ever i seem to change an option in the .cfg files it doesn't seem to do anything in the game. can anyone help me there.

well, in that case.. you should have your server.cfg with all the cvars in it..
make a change, then either type "/rcon exec server.cfg" in your console OR restart the server.. make sure your commandline is actually calling the server config as well..

in where? i dont know where to place them or how to open them or what not.

then you dont have a cfg.. you NEED a config to do any sort of decent server.. as i said, give me a bit and ill explain it all..

hell, i will even admin it, change maps, do what ya need with it..

actually yeah cant do anything for you dude, im way too busy and im not getting paid for it (nor is UAN).. if you want to rent a server for a night or 2, we can arrange it for a little fee..
