help needed please

i cant understand this virgin connection,it seems like my modem or comp keep switching to dialup,im not sure how to set it back to broadband,what i cant understand is my upload is ok but my download is 74kb lolol and ping is ok .what do u all rec

I would think the easiest way would be to disable your dialup connection

go to

Start>then Control Panel> Network Connections>
you should be looking at a list or icon view of your connections
right click the dialup one and select disable

if you need to enable in the future same procedure

most DSL connections require a user and pass
try simply storing your account info next time your prompted

just because your connection says its "dialing" dosent mean its a dialup connection speed

this is only a guess .what i cant understand is my download was 75 kbs my upload was 378kbs .my ping has never been better 148 to u lads then all of a sudden it goes to 4335kbs download and 380 kbs upload ping 210 its up and down like this all the time ?

im on cable , make sure your connecting via ethernet if your connection speed is over 4mb coz if your connecting via usb you wont get a connection speed over 4mb,,,,,,,
go to virgin website / connection issues and it tells you all about it
