on a completely different subject my bro let me borrow his external HDD for the weekend when i tried to downgrade my comp to xp it cant find my HDD because it is a SATA II if im understanding the problem correctly so apparently i needed to make a new xp cd wit the sata ii drives on the cd but i have no idea how to do that i found a website that had a step by step instructions on how to do it, but it was chinese to me, wanted to see if someone could help out, also my new comp doesnt have a floppy drive since it asks for one in the instructions wanted to see if there was a way around this here is the link to the site that had the instructions

Use nLite to create your own Winders CD that includes the SATA drivers. You can then avoid the whole floppy crappy issue altogether and also slipstream the latest SP3 while you're at it.

when i download the SATA driver SP32478.exe when i run the file it just puts a file in a folder that creates a boot disk with a floppy, i tried pointin nlite to the file and adding it to the driver part of the setup, but it wouldnt do it, the pop up for no floppy drive found kept coming up

See if you can find the windows drivers for the SATA controller, not the ones that create the floppy driver disk. At least for me, those were the ones that worked. Do you know the brand your SATA controller is? Or which chipset?
