Nicknames

Explain how or why you chose the name you play with in COD2.

Mine is based off of my own first and last name. Some of you have some interesting names and it would be nice to hear how you got the idea.

elmo

Started out as a joke name back when i was playing coduo at University. Only played one game using it and we all had a laugh. I just left it I guess when i installed cod2. After a few games on different cracked servers, everyone knew me as "elmo" so I didn't change it.


On a side note, I've been wanting to change my name for a while, but haven't to avoid confusing people. It was only intended as a joke name like I mentioned, for a few games. Basically, I want to move away from muppets and cartoons. Suggestions are welcome, but I'll prob turn it down. I'm used to changing my IGN every week at least anyways, this is the longest it's beent eh same. I was thinking of "Hobbes" (the philospher, not the tiger)

Anyways, nice stories. But elmo, if I was you, I wouldn't change my name because people already know you as elmo. If you change it, it will defeat the whole purpous of being known, and you would have to tell everybody that you changed your name.

Didn't I think your name was something different when you first started out on UAN?

Also, I'm not sure if Brian AKA "The Brain" is still around be his is a funny story. He was so stoned when he joined TS that he misspelled his own name. We thought he meant to be called Brain and started calling him that. It wasn't for a few days that he realized we weren't the bad spellers it was actually him!

At coduo i had the name ..::Jaap-H [NL]::... that was because my first name is jaap and i am from the netherlands (NL). When i started COD2 i would change my name. I was thinking but couldn't find one. so i starterd again with ..::Jaap-H [NL]::... .. after a some time is was playing COD2 and watching a Austin Powers movie. so i toughd that is a good name for me ad COD2.

no, i have never been with REO but when i was playing at UAN on CodUo there where sometimes deadlysnake and elite from REO maybe more but i cant remember it

Started in 2004 on an internet here in Panama. I use to camp too much on Quake 2, 3, Counterstrike, Far Cry and Battlefield 2.

But I don't see you camping that much anymore.

Before getting cod2 i was playing metal gear solid 3 and really liked it. MGS3's main character's name was Snake. I also finished metal gear solid 1 which was good too and the main character's nickname was Solid Snake. So I decided to choose Snake as my name.

Yeah snake, metal gear solid 3 was awesome.

I chose FUZiON before there was a car and razor. I think of it as short for confusion. Which is a state of mind most americans live in... plus its easy to say god damnit fuzion or fuzions a hacker and im gonna ban fuzion...

Been playing online games since before they were supposed to be played online....aka KALI....any old KALI users here? wtf is KALI u say? Kali was a program that let you play LAN games over the inet, back in the day ('95-96) you could then play Doom and C&C and Descent that way. Now every game is made to play over the inet but not back then. So if I own you is cus I've had my ass kicked since you could play online. Every game is pretty much the same and there are little, lesser know tricks....for instance....in games w fog usually you can view farther in the fog if you look kinda diaganol or out the corner (if that makes sense, works great in Americas Army). There's also something called moving in 3 directions...if you move forward, straffe, and up or down at the same time you move faster (this was great for flying games like Descent) Got really good playing Tribes (which still is my all time favorite, wish they could make a game as cool as the original Tribes with the new graphics. Tribes 2 really sucked and the other one was ok) As for my name, easy.....South Park where Cartman is stroking the dog. Red Rocket, Red Rocket!

I find out this game is not too much for camping, except with sniper rifle.
