help with vista

The top and bottom is i have just got a new system,it has vista installed,i dont normally use vista,so its new to me,when i go on cod2, it constantly has conection failour flashing,?the card which came with it is a 8600gt,256 on board,seems to be choppy most of the time,?the cpu is quad 9550 ,it has 4gb of ocz gaming ram 800 mhz,cant understand why its so crap,what im asking is if anyone is running vista,what to turn of or on ,or good tweaks,before i clod it out off the window ,

You can turn off alot of the sevices that are running.

I can't remember which config I'm using. It's either the tweaked or the barebones, but it frees up a lot of shit...
