ok, so after buyin a new GFX card and my system not being able to run it at its full potential crappy as intel pentium D processor, anyway, im looking to spend about 800 dollars on a comp, this will be my first time actually building one myself, wanted to know if i was missing anything, and if wat i picked was good, salvaging stuff from my old comp, like the HD, and alrdy have the GFX card, here we go MOBO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813130221 Fan http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835118003 CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115202 PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817341010 CASE http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811156135 RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145225 wanna know if im missing anything the total for all this comes out to 778 with shipping, so its right where i need it to be also i know that case comes with a PSU but im gettin it cause my bro needs a new PSU for his comp, so he can have that one, since i wont need it
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (nitewolfe @ Apr 2 2009, 05:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Nice build man but how big if your GFX card cause i'm seeing that ur power supply look small to me so watch the total watt u have and on the other just keeping adding the watt per pc component and compare it to the psu
the GFX card is this gts 250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...=gigabyte%20gts ive since had to get rid of the fan cause it wont fit that processor, and fans for the processor im trying to figure out if i can just stay with the stock one for awhile and just buy a fan when im gonna OC i also switched the ram to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820227384 unless i get different opinions on wether that, or the corsair dominators are better
might be a close call for the PSU to have enough power to power that rig, caus its i7.. and with the 250. if i were you id go for an 800W psu but thats just me, im sure you'll be able to run it on 600W, but if you were gonna add another gpu, or go watercooling, or somthing like that, a new PSU would be a must. oh and some of those links are not working for me.. is that just me?
I'd say that chip doesn't really fit well with the other stuff. DO NOT get the V10. It is the most fail cooler ever. Believe me, go look for some reviews on it. get the Coolermaster V8 instead, much better.
pfft, who cares about reviews... these fucks probably didn't even realize that the tec only activates at high temps. it's called conservation you dumb shits even the Canadians figured this out*: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardw...-review-14.html * they fried it though, probably from using a POS Seasonic S12 600W
all im saying is that a much lower end cooler, such as the TRUE, which with a push-pull fan configuration, is widely accepted as the best air cooling you can get, is much cheaper and better performing than the V10. And for the price of a V10, you could build a low end water cooling system, as a small CPU loop with a 240 rad on a pull or push config, would perform much much better, for only about $30 more. ok yes, the V10 is probably the most badass looking cooler out today, and it has tec, which is a new feature which is not found in other coolers, and it does cool better than a stock cooler, but it is really overpriced, and a cooler half the price would perform better with some high rpm fans.
