ok your new machine is nice, however Acer puts out thier own series of AM2 socket boards. this is good and bad. Bad cause the cooling and life expectancy is never the best. thats how they make money.
good news is they are affordable to replace and frankly if you can screw in a light bulb you can replace it yourself. STATIC electricity is your only enemy in builds.
    moving on.

I know how you unlock your bios.
you need to boot the pc to MS-DOS. either with a bootable diskette or frankly by removing the HDs and forcing the pc to boot from CD.
(google it and you'll find more of an explanation then I am giving)

ONCE in ms-dos you need to do the following.
the bios is factory locked. (another thing I want to slap acer people for)

After you get to the c:\> or c:\WINDOWS> prompt type DEBUG and then press Enter.

A hyphen(-) prompt will come up waiting for you to enter commands.

Enter the following commands, pressing Enter after each one. (Note: the o is the letter o and stands for OUTPUT).

    o 70 2e

    o 71 ff

    q

After the q command type exit.

Restart the computer you can enter in the bios and change the values like it should.

    best of luck

Let me know if this does it for you. if it doesn't I have other ways which involve moving "hoppers" around on the mobo itself (saracasm incoming) just rub your feet on shag carpet while doing so for the best results! lol jk. but brings a serious point. ALWAYS have a hand on a metal part of the case while removing the HD's if you have to remove them, this helps keep the static from effecting your chips. Try that first and give me a follow up.

your mobo is model : Acer RS780HVF
    incase you need that info.

further research shows it could also be a raid driver issue.
if you got the mobo driver cd then you can load that, OR the alternate is downloading a overclocking program
heres a great place to start
