Laptop

I have come to the point in my life that I need a laptop. It will not be used for gaming, more for school type shit and work. I am looking to spend around 600 bucks. Are there any brands that I should look at or stay away from?

Just going by what my brother bought... I'd recommend an HP... very decent hardware (can handle any use other than gaming) for about $450 on HP.com

No problems as of yet, no overheating, nothin...

anything but a mac and you should be fine since most are very customizable and wide range of prices.

1. fuck red moon i have a mac. and love it.
2. DO NOT get the HP pavillions. the new series that they have been putting out suck BALLS and it died. along with about 5 other peoples with other pavillions ranging from my mobo frying, to others having other issues.
3. toshiba satellites are wicked awesome. my dads is still going strong after abuot 5 years.

quick is rite about the hp pavilion they are dying and have a lot of issues...

i bought a cheap acer 5516 then put in a new processor that was dual core for $20 and bought another stick o 2gig ram for another $25 . she rocks and is a great surfing and general laptop, oh ya and win 7... im likin that.

i could on mine..it took a complete diassasembly, but it was fun.. i put this proc in. AMD 64 X2 Turion TL-50 Laptop CPU 1.6 Ghz. made a great difference
