Uninstalling the 1.2 Patch

I happened to install it whenever I noticed the auto update button in COD2 without thinking of checking the forum to see if the server would support it yet. So after tinkering around, I found a way to uninstall it (on accident).

First if you have installed it, try to simply run the installer again to see if you can install it that way. If it doesn't work do this:

1. Back up your cod2mp_s.exe file
2. Open Start, click Run, and type in Regedit
3. Go to HKEY_Local_MachineSoftwareActivisionCall of Duty 2
4. change the value of Version to 1.1
5. Rerun the installer, it will ask if you'd like to remove the components of 1.2
6. Some reason it deletes cod2mp_s.exe so copy it back over

if you can't get it to run still, uninstall 1.1 and reinstall it by:
1. Open Start, click Run, and type in Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_Local_MachineSoftwareActivisionCall of Duty 2
3. change the value of Version to 1.0
4. Rerun the 1.1 installer, it will ask if you'd like to remove the components of 1.1
5. rerun the 1.1 installer it will bring back the cod2mp_s.exe and any other missing files

I did an simple system restore, it worked perfectly

wow, wish i would've known this yesterday. I ended up uninstalling COD2 then reinstalling again. Thanks for the heads up anyways.

i think all i woulda done is copied the orig exe from the iso....same results no?

so when will the UAN server support 1.2?
