hello there, whats happening is i put new cpu in e7500 ,usual thing arctic paste ,blah blah, install win7 went to bios cpu temp is -0.5c 31 f super cool or what is this normal or what lol, also for some reason when i shut down screen goes off but its like the comp still running dosent shut off, weird, any suggestions welcome, power options on shut down
Your CPU is definitely not running at -.5C. Use a software app like Everest or CPU-Z to check you temperatures and see if your still getting the same results. Possible Fixes: -Update your BIOS -Re-seat the CPU in the socket If that doesn't work the sensor on your board probably just went bad. You can purchase an an external device for monitoring temps. Most basic fan controllers have a small plate sensors that you can place between the chip and heat sink to read surface temps.

You should be fine then. I would still update you BIOS though. Whenever you change your CPU you should update your BIOS to insure your chipset and board are fully utilizing the new CPU.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bender @ Feb 26 2010, 03:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> i have the latest one for my board i should be ok touch wood,my win7 will not shut down i dont know why ,monitor does but machine dosent. here is a good tip for people who have win7 when loading a game mp and it dosent work, before you launch game unplug your mic and earphones ,doubleclick mp as usual ,and plug your mic and earphones back in, its a sound issue, works perfect, win7 7660
the lowest ive got too is 30, thats with a aluminium case, and about 5 to 6 fans controllers and one huge one on my case, having not yet installed my new cpu cooler
28 idle for me. Bommer your shit is fked up... I have had Win7 for a while and haven't had those issues. Your system not shutting down sounds like a power management issue, I suggest checking to make sure you have all of your drivers installed/uptodate.
Temperatures vary greatly between cpu architectures and especially manufacturers, comparing them against one another is futile. Most of your problems are more than likely due to driver related issues. Are you able to properly shutdown while running in safemode? Did you update your chipset drivers when you upgraded your cpu?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bender @ Feb 27 2010, 12:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> going back to xp to see if this will fix the problem, ill keep you posted
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (brownbommer3 @ Feb 27 2010, 10:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> still not working, done bios no joy, nearest i can get to it is unistalling graghics drivers and put vga in ,screen will then stay on when shutting down saying shuttung down,if i put latest driver in goes back to screen goees of but machine stays on ?
It would be a lot easier to assist you if listed your complete system specs. Are you sure your board even supports your new CPU, and I asked earlier if you updated your chipset drivers when changed your CPU?
