I wouldn't go any lower than the 5770... for that price range. Getting a new power supply is an absolute must. Don't go cheap on the PSU!
Your friend is full of shit. Your not going to find a 300W PSU that has dual 6pin pci-e connectors, let alone one. Also your not going to find a 300W PSU with the necessary 36A over 12v rails to even start the card...
nope ... not full of shit this time .... if i hadn't seen it myself i wouldnt have belived it either. hes useing adapters to turn 4 of his molex cables into 2 6 pins. plus hes runnin 2 dvdrom drives 2 hdd's a tv tuner card and a wireless network card. like i said ... hes retarded ... i told him it was a miracle it didnt all fry and that he needed a better psu. but his little but buddy at best buy told him i didnt know shit. if ya can belive that ... i dont know shit.
I barely ran an x1300 (min 400watt PSU), 1 HDD, 1 DVD drive on a 200watt PSU. I highly doubt his rig is even remotely stable.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cletus @ Mar 22 2010, 02:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> lol i never said it was stable ... he cant even play roller coaster tycoon 3 right. but does he listen... nope. his "geek squad" dip shit says "that aint the problem ... he needs more ram." this is all also part of the reason i started calling dumb ppl "Ricktarded"
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Shark @ Mar 22 2010, 12:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Oh the irony...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Captainhowdey @ Mar 22 2010, 02:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Still calling bullshit on this one. You need 36A on the +12V rail just to get the card to power up. Not going to find that on a 300watt'r
i got a 650 antec true power (my psu wont be problem) and i wanna run a 5770 into a pci-e 1.0 should run fine..? i dont expect his full capacity but atleast should be running.. btw my chipset is nvidia nforce 590 sli

thanks for ur replys..i need something a little high end so im going to stop being a cheap bastard and upgrade this system or buy a new rig
My bud who I taught building computers he went to school and got a nice job trouble shooting, and networking at a major hospital. I went with him to look at his Aunts laptop. It would give the lights, but not post anything. He told her the MB was fried, and needed major repair. She wanted to salvage pics, and what not, so he started to pull the HD. I said start simple then go up! Pull the battery then put it back in. It worked! Closest thing to a hard boot I could think of cause I dont see a lot of lap tops. Then I set up a wireless router and network. Yah the painter did it!! LOL He wont hear the end of it, I promise !!! LOL
