That vid was lovely! I like the part were you call for the artillery and you look up and the planes falling...that was sickwitit. Kick ass song too.
rec I used fraps to get the video. Then I used VirtualDub to chop it up (fraps video is huge non compressed 5GB chunks). Then reassembled my chopped up pieces in Ulead Media Studio and used its transition effects to make it look a little more seamless. I dubbed the mp3 with the video with media studio too. If you are cheap you can use VirtualDub for everything (except capture) but there are several more steps. After I had the full high quality movie (1GB+) exported from media studio. I used virtualdub to encode it into xvid. Google video will accept xvid avi movies. I just had to wait a week for it to come online after I uploaded it. Im sure someone has a better/easier method for this but I use this software all the time for commercials and I am already familiar with it. making a video step by step one of things people dont do is demo record and use fraps on the recorded demos. with this method you can replay things from different angles and graphix settings, like removing the text from the screen to make it look less amateur(although sometimes theres reasons to keep it on screen). here is a txt file illl post with step by step How to make cod2 movies. 1. Use ingame demorecord feature. a. you can type /record in the console, then /stoprecord b. or use this where kp_5(#5 on thekeypad) will toggle record on and off set Recordon "record;set demotoggle vstr Recordoff" set Recordoff "stoprecord; set demotoggle vstr Recordon" seta demotoggle "vstr Recordon" bind kp_5 "vstr demotoggle" c. just use (a.) if you dont know what all that is. 2. Replay the demo, (here you can increase the display settings to whatever you want) a. In multiplayer on main menu screen type /demo demo0001 in the console, where demo0001 is whatever your demoname is. b. If you have trouble running demo:before you run demo, first take out all the mods from your main folder, and the mod folders from the root cod2 directory. c. To remove text, you must run a map with developer settings first, and right after run the demo. example: on main menu screen in console type /devmap mp_matmata wait for it to load then disconnect d. now inconsole type demo demo0001(or whatever the demo is) e. during demo type in console /cg_draw2d 0 0=off 1=on 3. Now during demoplayback, you need to use fraps. get it at www.fraps.com record your 30 sec pieces. 4. take those avi files and load them into windows movie maker and go to town. for alternate angles you need a program called grinbot, i lost the link, but it can be googled, and it slows or speeds up the demo too, FF RW, and I love it.
is there somewhere that you can find it, because I tried doing what you said and then i went to the console later and did the demo demo0001 and nothing happened
well...i got it to record but now its a matter of getting it to replay... i typed in what you said but it couldnt find demo0001 is there somewhere on the hardrive i can find it though....If i make a real video I dont want to edit it, thats too much work.
you will have to make a "demo" folder in your main folder i believe. the game does not support demos from anywhere else, but if you played on a server that had any downloads of anykind. the demos will be in that folder. just move them to the new demo folder you have created, and try again.
