Shy away from LED backlight displays for gaming. The generally have funky color reporduction, soft edges and suffer from blacklight bleeding (they generally just don't look good). Find yourself a decent LCD CCFL backlight display. Features to look for are a 16:10 ratio (more vertical resolution and not that cropped look designed for cinema) and an IPS panel
So this one looks to meet your specs ... http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_...duct_id=0371557

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bender @ Jan 24 2012, 09:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> IPS=Better quality mostly TN= Really good option for gaming since it has better response times so less input lag
The speed gap between TN and IPS panels has been narrowed greatly over the recent years. The human eye wont notice any input lag on must newer decent IPS panels. I have been gaming on various Dell UltraSharp's for the 5-6yrs without issue.
I am considering a 27" monitor. So I stole the 32"(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889005138) t.v. out of the bedroom and played some BF3, just to see what would happen. HOLY SHIT! It was a great experience. I was shooting the toes off guys standing behind vehicles 300m away.
In the beginning, I had the plan to span 3 displays. Don't do it, it's not worth it, until bezels go away. And it's way too much (how the fuck do you spell) real estate to drag a mouse from one end to the other. I use two monitors: One for the game and one for TS, Procon and monitoring software. They do not have to be the same size monitor, in my case. Currently using this http://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-22-Widescreen-LED-Dual-Monitor-Bundle-includes-2-Monitors/16683131. And I'm looking to add something like this: http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-32CS560-lcd-tv I will still use just 2 monitors. My Cougar is going out of town this weekend, and I'm gonna drag the LG 32" tv back into the office to get some more XP. It really blew my socks off playing on the 32".

Dell Ultrasharps are choice! I have been using them religiously since 2005 in different variations. I think Yamakasi Catleap monitors are probably the best budget friendly higher end monitor out there. I personally don't own one but my office is filled with and all the nerds there also use them at home. Beautiful responsive display and they're really tits when you pair them with a display arm mount. They will run you about $380-450 depending on what features you choose. I suggested to Snack that he gets one and he really likes it. 27" 2560x1440 S-IPS panel http://www.witechit.co.kr/ http://www.overclock.net/t/1225919/yamakasi-catleap-monitor-club

I just picked up the ASUS 23.6" VS2437H-P from Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236174). After you calibrate it the thing looks amazing and I got it on sale for $159 (reg. $219) with code TSAXLAY38, ends 1/21
I've enjoyed my Asus monitor right of the box. Didn't change anything. When I was taking a :fighting0024: this morning, I started to read up on some menu settings. "Game mode", I'll have to try that one. "Trace Free", not sure which way to go. I'll have to play with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9fmZ9lgWe8 Anyone have experience with it.
