Planetside 2 Alpha gamplay videos - looking awesome!

w00t !! Planetside 2 beta ! I'm gonna try and get a beta key. let me know if any of you get one also.

if you dont know about Planetside or Planetside 2, its a MMOFPS... like a futuristic Battlefield 3 only the battles are between 3 different factions with 1000's of people on each side.

i posted links to videos of the original Planetside since there is very little video content for Planetside 2 at the moment. It should give you an idea of the large scale teamwork present in the game for Planetside 2. the graphics are old, seeing that Planetside came out in 2003. but the graphics for Planetside 2 are going to be awesome.

These videos are from GDC 2012. Alpha Footage with commentary. Once this game is complete, its going to be great! Also, in video 2 or 3, he does confirm to everyone that Planetside 2 will be "completely FREE to PLAY".... and they will make money off micro-tranactions of cosmetic items and a "members club". Anyone who likes Battlefield 3 and doesnt at least give this game a try is going to miss out. Definitely going to need to do some upgrading to my gaming rig for this title....

Do they have a release date or anything yet?

no word yet on anything yet. not when the game goes gold or when the beta will start. They only showed off the alpha gameplay at the GDC which just happened.

Hi fellers! The Beta is about to begin! No date is made yet but very soon, they are inviting like crazy now, and a tech testing phase has already begun. You can get a key by twitter follow #planetside2 and butter up the tweeters. Best bet is the weekend, I had no luck with the people during the week, but this chick Valkyrie is super loose with the keys. Im hopeing before the end of August beta will launch
