I've been using the Logitech MX518 for years. I finally used up my last one and now I can't replace it very cheaply. Most sites are asking up to $90+ for one. I'm using the G400 now. It's good but it doesn't seem to be quite as sensitive as the 518. Any suggestions and/or recommendations?
What about fatigue? The 518 hurts my right index finger after a few hours of continuous play due to a ridge that they have riding too low. If you place your finger where they want you to, you are dragging your finger across the mat slowing down your mouse movement across the pad. Can't have that!
For me it's the Logitech G9x all the way, I have been using them religiously for a couple years now. I use them for home, gaming and work use (I have a total of 6 in use atm). They offer super sturdy construction, from it's cable to it's molded construction. The switchable grips are nice, I have bigger hands so using the non-claw like grip is a bonus. Also the ability to add or remove weight from the mouse really allows you to dial in your ultimate comfort and performance level. Also you can pick one up now in the sub $60 dollar range unlike most of it's competitors on it's level that near $100. Logitech has also done a really good job with their Set Point software and they've really dialed it in unlike years in the past.
Logitech G500 has the same specs as the G9x but is half the price, not so pretty and has a different shape. If your g400 feels good but you have sensitivity issues, first try different settings or a different surface. anyway new mice need getting used to. If you're used to the mx518 shape and you like it, i would try a G500. The G9x has the laser in the center, like the R.A.T., and has the buttons on the same height.. not curved. It took me half a year to set my R.A.T. up to my likings, coming from a G500, and i still miss the G500 curves. I'd say, if you really want to change.. try the G9x, the G500 and the R.A.T. (Though it's impossible to clean and has cheap-ass buttons it can feel very nice), and just pick the one that feels best.
It seems the mice are all going wireless. Are there any lag issues with these? I just bought the $99 mX at Frye's but I havent opened it yet. Was wondering if I should try it... I'm old. I don't like change. HAHAHAHA!!!
First had a Logi wirless, cant remember the model cuz it suck(no more logi mouse for me)...then had Razer Imperator for almost 3years,was great before my 2month cat thought it was a toy...now am using a R.A.T. this shit is so fucking disgusting ugly like krome ass but insane fast and exelent performance also like krome ass.
Bought the RAT and it was more complicated than necessary. PROMPTLY returned it to Frye's. Bought the G500. Different feel in the wheel than the 518, and little taller in the palm but has somewhat same feel. I was ablt to aquire and stay on target rather quickly, which as you guys know, is CRUCIAL in this game. Got a coupla 'accuracy" ribbons playing 2 rounds with it.
