    Hello guys,

My computer is in a state of mind where it wants to get on my nerves.
A lot of times my graphics card doesnt put trough a signal. This happens all of a sudden.
When the computer is turned on it can run for 5 days straight.
But like yesterday, the second i restart my computer the signal is gone again.
Just want to let you know that if i leave without any notice, it's probably my computer beeing all gay and stuff:woohoo:

I guess overheating is not the issue if you get no signal when you turn the system on..

If you have another PCI-Express X16 slot, try the GPU in that.

If you still are having problems, then it may be the card is going out. RMA it through your vendor.

How is your power supply? Is it appropriately sized. I have had many bad things due to crappy power supplies.

Let me help you a little more. It could be an undersized power supply. You find calculators on the interwebs that can help you determine if it is appropriately sized.

    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=computer power supply calculator

It could also be that your power supply shit the bed. (Maybe clogged with dust or maybe it's just dying.) There are power supply testers available from your favorite computer store, e.g., Newegg, (You can also use a multimeter. But, the problem with that is that you cannot put a load on the power supply. So, it may indicate proper voltage with no load.)

And oh yeah, if you're not sure what you're doing you can easily get a electrocuted or really screw up your computer. There are plenty of videos to show you how to do this.

Another possibility: if you are using a PCI-Express video card, most require separate power connection directly to the card. It could be as simple as that supply not being firmly connected to the video card. Here's am image of what that looks like. There is a separate 6-pin connector that goes directly between the power supply and video card.

    Just a couple more ideas.

I have had my power supply go on the fritz twice. Both times I thought it was a bad motherboard or video card, at first (because the power supply was giving power, just not good power.)

I am a big fan of the Corsair modular power supplies. High quality and you only use the cables that you need. (So, you can keep your box neat.)

And oh yeah, speaking of heat. How is the cooling? Is it possible that you got a dead or dust-clogged fan? You may want to check that out out. You can get a free tool like SpeedFan to monitor temperatures and a lot of other stuff.

Personally, I don't think you can get a computer too cool. The downside to more fans is more noise.

Those are just a few more thoughts. Let us know if you're making any progress.

Well, it's not any of the things you mentioned above. Thanks for the info anyway.
I recently found out that when i start up, and get no signal. removing the videocard and putting it back after rubbing (sounds a bit gay) the connections a bit, it gets a signal straight away.
So i'm thinking of a bad connection somewhere. It only happens on start up, not while the computer is already on
