Video card upgrade - need help

    I am looking at upgrading my video card, what do you guys suggest , i currently have an x800 256mb with PCI slot.

    7600gt? seems like the solid new midrange card, but ive been out of the game looking at video cards for a couple months, so i have no idea whats a good deal.

    take a look at http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html

    they update their charts pretty often, but some of the most recent releases arent there. i dont particularly like toms hardware anymore since they started their "store" portion, but its hard to argue with straight up fps charts

    If you do go ATI (dumbass), be sure to get an X1K series. Preferably an X1900XTX or similar...

    Otherwise, a GF 7600GS or higher will work beautifully.

    THANKS FOR THAT CHART SITE WAFFLES, I THINK I MIGHT AS WELL GO WITH THE GE-FORCE 7950, IT'S KINDA PRICY BUT IT MIGHT BE THE LAST CARD I EVER BUY.

    Bought a 7950 GX2 last week, and found out that my f'n DELL XPS400 motherboard is not compatible with it's expensive ass, now after 3 hrs on customer support phone line they gave me that wonderfull news, i finally returned that and got a 7900 GTX , works pretty damn good.
