changing ign

I can't seem to get my tags to remain on. Everytime I exit cod2, my name reverts back to previous. Anyone have advice on how to make this permanent? Also, how the fuck do I get the main menu to stop being nobs by default? I change it and on restart it comes back...

change your name then exit without going in game

it should save then

Start up the game, open the console and enter this command:
seta name [UAN]Faggory

Exit the game, you are good to go.
Note: Faggory obviously being you

For the NoBS bull, delete any "zzz_" or similar .iwd from your CoD2/main folder. If you are unsure about which files to delete, take a screenie and post it here.

After i used that seta command and restarted the game everything was fine, but when I went into a game through ASE my tags went back to original.

WTF???

i believe ASE goes around certain commands.. check for any options for name within ASE.. its cache/settings.. dunno about ASE, i dont use it

I set it to always name me ^9[UAN]Mjr. ^1General. that seems to work. Thanks for the advice

what i did was right click icon on desktop properties.
dbl click main folder.
" " players
1 folder 1 text
open active text change name press file at top save.
rename folder to your name
open folder do same with text inside open config file change name and save at top.
do same with uantest22 folder should work fine

or just do what i did.. seta and then if using ASE make sure its set up there.. lol
