missing d3dx9_34.dll

I reformatted the other night and before doing so I moved my whole cod4 folder to my external drive so I wouldn't have to install it again or lose my profile shit. Well when I try to start up cod4 it says "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_34.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Anyone know a fix other than re-installing?

I dunno but you could try installing the latest version of directx

I would say install directx again and see if that helps. also try runnin dxdiag.exe and see if it find any issues....

I probably did this the hard way, however I think it should work. I have all of my files for cod4 saved on my external drive so I re-installed cod4 and save it to my C drive. Then i simply copied my folder saved on my external and replaced the folder saved on my C drive. Now all I have to do is get the update patch.

make sure your windows is upto date aswell sometimes this can cause driver problems too

nice to hear that its fixed.. i had also some problems with installing cod4 and cod2, i was missing some files or i had some files that caused a error.. so i cut that files and saved it somewhere and the one i didnt had i downloaded. after the installing i did pasta the files back and is was all good. I dont know how you fixed it but what i woudl say is if you have problems next time you can download that file and pasta it in the folder where the error is, that always works with me
