What the hell is up with the colored boxes? On 'Crash' the trees and grass were a really bright yellow....... This clip is in the back of 'Chinatown' but boxes everywhere did the same weird color. http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/ll301/b...eFruitBoxes.flv Anyone know what could be causing this?
yep Cerwidwen unloading your hacks should fix that ยก JK ok just restarting your pc /game or updating your drivers will fix it
Cerwidwen I have had that happen before. It's either due to your gpu temps are too high or an unstable OC on your gpu and or gpu's. In a sense you could relate it to artifacting. -What gpu are you running and at what clocks? -What are your gpu operating temps within COD4? If this recently just started happening, try rolling back to a previous driver bundle. Various driver releases will effect gpu OC stability (new or old). .... @red_moon, Shut up there is no "us". If you spent less time spamming UAN's forums with your white trash inbred rhetoric. And spent more time on the EE forums, they might actually have more than a whooping two posts on them. Then again the same upper tier EE members that have expressed to us, that you're a fuckbag piece of shit. Probably breathe a sigh of relief that you don't spew your crap all over their forums...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bender @ May 14 2010, 10:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> CoD4 would run 65-67C @1680x1050 all settings maxed, (even AA and AF). Tried the older drivers, tried the reinstall, was running my BFG GTX 275 OC (that you pointed out) @ 720 (core)/1548 (shader)/1296 (mem) with on nVidia 197.45 drivers. Currently have it backed off to the stock 648/1440/1152. I never did get artifacts like you used to see with overclocking, unless I OC'd wayyyy on up there, just certain objects would be certain colors looking like it was supposed to be that way All this started when I got a new mobo and HDD. I bought a mobo and kept my aged Q6600. I am traditionally an AMD guy since before the merger with ATI and am seriously considering taking my LGA775 back and going AM3 and a 1055t (mhuahuahua).
The colored boxes have nothing to do with your CPU, it's your gpu. -Did you install the chipset drivers for your mobo when you installed it? -You may have a bad or dirty pci-e lane on your mobo. -You may have touched the pci-e connector on your card, try cleaning it with some isopropyl alcohol. -You may have a card that is going bad. BFG has a lifetime warranty, contact support they may have a solution. If not just have them send you a new card. Do you experience graphical issues with any other game? *The 1055t is junk, it's just modular expansion of the Phenom II x4 processor (meh). The 1055t gets out paced by the Intel i5's (quad's)...
So do the Phenom II x4's On a side note, why are you running your CPU at 2.2GHz? I thought the two factory clocked varieties of that chip came in at 3.2GHz and 3.4GHz...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bender @ May 14 2010, 02:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> I bet he did CPU-Z validation while it was in idle mode which slows down the CPU to low settings or some shyte like that. EIST or some setting in my mobo I had to turn off...I don't remember <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bender @ May 14 2010, 01:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Haven't installed anything else except Vantage and Passmark tests. You wouldn't believe the messed up issues I have been having just with CoD4 since the new mobo. That's the main reason I am considering going ahead and getting the good stuff. I have been using Passmark CPU stats for a long time and the 1055t smokes many other CPUs and the AMD CPU/mobos are on sale right now at Microcenter  . OK, recently, I have bought the GTX 275 OC, a Gigabyte (GA-EP45-UD3L) mobo and a new HDD to replace the one I broke the SATA plug off of and had tape holding the cable in place hehe
Many other CPU's, yeah there are thousands of other CPU's. Passmark is not a good gauge in performance with a 6 core chip unless your into video encoding or benchmarking. Games and consumer OS's today only utilize 4 cores. If you want a cheap fast CPU/Mobo combo I would go for this. You can pick it up for $373 if you buy it through Bing/Tigerdirect. That i7 860 at stock clocks (2.8GHz) will spank a Phenom II quad at 4GHz. You can run that 860 at 4GHz with little effort. And going from a Q6600 you will be amazed in the performance jump. Just my two cents...
Decided on i7 860 and Asus P7P55D-E. Have it OC'd to 3.8GHz and can hold full load on Prime95 all cores at 79C for over an hour. Not bad for $199 CPU, $149 mobo. See a lot less of my system getting bottlenecked by the CPU now. TY for the advice
