<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (major_badass @ Jan 18 2010, 10:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> It is the same issue on IWNET. Sometimes I have to try 5 hosts before I can get a "playable" connection.
Has anyone ordered a game from the EA store and used direct download? I heard the download option is horrible when there is a high demand for a title. I was now thinking about canceling my Gamestop pre-order and ordering BFBC2 from EA so that I will have the game on the day of the release (EA store also guarantees beta keys).
If they guarantee the beta keys, I'll get it through there most likely. Not sure yet. I'm still waiting to see what Steam has in mind... Never got a high-demand game on day 1 through EA store so I really wouldn't know about server load.
I got Crysis and spore from the EA Store... Crysis was a bitch to get on day one... I'm still holdin off for steam unless they take to long like usual..
When BF2142 was released it was hell! That was several years ago so I would imagine they have updated for the anticipated demand for the game. (In a dream world that last sentence would make sense.)
Hmm decisions, decisions... I remember reading somewhere that the digital download was 15gb or that you needed 15gb of disk space for it. I do not recall.
EBGames is now offering beta keys as well. Also they have a special offer, if you pre-order from them they will ship a hard copy of the game free overnight on the day of the release. EBGames.com - BFBC2 Deal
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Steam Preorder will be coming up soon... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div> That's a quote from Lincoln Hershberger, who works in EA's Marketing/PR dept. http://twitter.com/hyphy911

That list of beta supported retailers is kind of unclear.. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div> So GameStop is the only US retailer providing beta keys? What about EBGames and some of the other stores promising keys?
I, too will be selling BF:BC2 Beta keys. Sending $49.99 to my paypal e-mail: urasucker@givememoney.com Do it Nao!

A question for COD4 players that purchased a copy from Steam. Does Steam automatically start and run in the background when you start COD4? Or can you run the game independently without Steam running like with GTAIV?
