Mainly this is for Guss, since he told me he runs with very low FPS in COD4. But, some of you may be able to benefit from some of these changes. http://forums.efsquad.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=378
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Shark @ Nov 13 2009, 05:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Interesting, Shark I will test them when get back home.
Did not know you could control the field of viewing angle...hmmm....maybe I have a setting to fiddle around with now :lamo:
Before: -On the battlefield: -With a few game frames: After: -On the battlefield: -With a few frames: There is a small but important FPS improvement, although sometimes get under 60 FPS, but now it keep over 60. (Now I understand why red numbers ). I made changes with firsts tips in Tutorial. (Who have some echos) and I disable Antilasing and Filters also. Thanks Sharkus. /Screenshots taken at Stock+ server/
glad you found it helpful... If you want even more FPS, let me know... I can get you a config that will help a lot...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (QuikSilvr @ Nov 13 2009, 09:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> R E D U N D A N Thanks shark, I will try it this week!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Shark @ Nov 16 2009, 11:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Yep!, with more FPS is better.
Core2 Quad6600 and 9800GT @ 1680x1050 No AA but all other settings max and absolutely none of the tweaks from that guide... If I am getting pretty consistent 85+ FPS and never lag @ 1680x1050, I shouldn't worry about the tweaks right? (except maybe just for show-off)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cerwidwen @ Nov 17 2009, 05:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Double-post...wow even when I put all in-game sett's to low on 1024x768, I still get 90 FPS. Like I have V-Sync on but I don't...weird. Maybe something in the driver. Maybe I should go back to TRU Xtreme G drivers.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cerwidwen @ Nov 17 2009, 02:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> You shouldn't have to worry about the tweaks unless you are having problems... Also, the reason it is capped is because by default, /com_maxfps is set to 85. If you want to see the uncapped FPS, do this: Open your console (~) Type "/com_maxfps 0" (without quotes) Press Enter Close the game, restart and join a server... should fluctuate now.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Shark @ Nov 17 2009, 11:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Yea 2 x 4890 turbo's, so prolly wont help much huh?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cletus @ Nov 17 2009, 06:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> Thanks, Cletus...hovered between 120-150 FPS @ 1680x1050. Not bad at all for a 9800GT.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cerwidwen @ Nov 17 2009, 04:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> WoW, Now I have a Core 2 Duo E7400 and 9400 GT, my low resources can be the matter?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cerwidwen @ Nov 17 2009, 04:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> When I was running the single 9800GT I was getting about 115-125 consistently. When I put the Second one in, I get about 200+ consistently. It is all about finding a setting that looks good for your "eye". I find that if I can maintain a solid 125... it is perfect. Once you find your "spot" lock it with the /com_maxfps x setting. Also, the fps has locking frames so anything between 111 and 125 will bump to 125. you can find these key frames on a site I am sure.
Thx Shark, my game looks better and fps are great, but I m getting a msg at the left bottom "/r_drawdecals (=0) must be 1", could be a problem?
