solution, go to http://laptopvideo2go.com/ and get a custom .inf or make a custom one yourself http://laptopvideo2go.com/enhancer this is mainly for laptops, but the forcewares are for both . another thing you should know with drivers is that newer is not always better.. so not need to be upgrading all the time.

    Uninstall your driver
    Run this in safe mode
    Reboot
Install 178.15 or go back to step 1 and install whatever was working before.

I got 178.13 on this box, but my card is AGP and the QOS demo ran like shit...

I did this and it worked well for an evening... But, the symptoms came back... I dunno, it is probably just PB bullshit...

When are they gonna stop ruining games with that crap software?

ok, I figured out what was causing my COD4 to run like shit. Aha! It is the shitty Asus pci-x sound card that came with my mobo. I have been putting off buying a decent sound card for a long ass time. Even my wife won't be able to keep me from buying one now... :)

But, on a side not, my game is still hanging... I think it may be something to do with the audio card as well. CABJ, what did you do to solve your hang issues?

Sounds stupid but this worked for me. It is something to do with realtek audio drivers and COD4

"put your headphone jack in the mic slot. I had the same problem, and then I read online that you should put your headphone jack in the mic slot, and it worked ."

Also, I had a ram issue with my new compy which caused huge lag issues. If you haven't checked that maybe a good idea.
