PCI-E is a good thing (I believe) - it just means the slot is smaller. I'm pretty sure you're going to have to get a newer card. I love my 8800 but that might be overkill really. Might try the 7000 series ...

The chip is also going to give you problems (I think) ... take a lok at some Intel Core Duo chips.

I bought all my parts at newegg.com and was very happy with the delivery.

Does the demo run on your computer at all?

****EDIT: It looks like Butzie and I posted at the same time! He's talking about the RAM when he's asking about the DDR...

Basically the AGP's max bandwidth is 2.1GB/s and PCI-e is around 4GB/s. Even the most current PCI-e cards are not using the bus to its full potential. Yet it is still much faster than AGP and has more room to grow...

If you buy an AGP board or gfx card you are just wasting money. Eventually, you will be forced to upgrade anyway, so I would suggest getting a low end 8000 series NV card with a pretty decent motherboard, RAM, and CPU... all of which can be had for under $550.

Prices change but this is what I would get for a budget system.
    ASUS EN8600GTS/HTDP/256M GeForce 8600GTS 256MB
    CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Conroe 2.33GHz LGA 775 Processor

$522.97 plus shipping and tax if applicable...
