First off, good lookin out Fuzion.

'Optimizing' the common graphics on the site is an interesting thought, but I don't think entirely necessary. Yes, we have had bandwidth issues, but the problem wasn't with the logo or even the buttons. I believe it was due to a jump in forums activities, which is all mySQL.

We haven't had any bandwidth problems in over a month, and our host hasn't sent us anymore warnings, so something has been worked out.

Once you visit the page and load the logo, the buttons, and anything else on our site, it will be in your browser's cache, so it's not like they're reloaded every time you navigate to a new page.

Secondly, phpBB=elmo's good friend. I've installed/modded/upgraded dozens of phpBB forums. It's my favorite by far. There's a topic you can't see in the admin area called "elmo's to do list" and one of the things on there is upgrade the ported forum on our site.

IMO, and even more so, IRO, pruning is a no-no. We lost a couple thousand posts a few months back, and then several hundred more a month ago. We like having the old posts around, and when i upgrade the forums, there will be an archiving mod made. So DB and BW usage due to old posts will not be a problem.

Thanks again, FUzion. I may take you up on the image 'optimizing' sometime.
