Custom ambient sound?

    Are the stock ambient sounds packed with the maps or called from an external file? If they are packed, any way of 'replacing' the stock one with custom one? (spoken from a non-programmer, but try to figure out shit perspective).

    Any way of extracting the stock sound, bringing it into a sound editor and finding out what format it's in?

    there isnt anything out that will extract an ff file
    you can dump them from ram, but its next to impossible to reassemble each file (afaik)
