PunkBuster's auto-update system is shut down right now for BF3 and for good reason. Their recent update is causing players to be auto-kicked from any server running PB. When this occurs a player receives a message similar to this. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div> So on that note, don't manually update PB via PBSetup until all of this is sorted out.
Annoying, you'd think with all the money they make off these games, things like PB could work better.....
On the topic of PB... there is this: http://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield3/comme...nning_innocent/ No system is fault proof. At least DICE/EA have allowed admins to run dedicated servers and PB. I would much rather put up with the hassles of PB errors, than the route IW/Activision have taken with their P2P/VAC system.
^^That particular incontinent wasn't PB's fault at all. It had to do with a third party service called GGC, a streaming service that shares ban-lists (similar to PBBans). GGC left their system open to exploits and a certain few took advantage of it. But in the end it only really affected servers that streamed to GGC and the players that played on them. In terms of yesterdays fail that was affecting some players, I believe that is all resolved now because everyone is running the same server version now and pb version.
