LOVE IT! I just got done playing it and it's great! Love the speed, and all the settings. Just wish the guns were more powerful like in Hardcore. When are we going to move this version of AWE and settigns to the "modded" server? Also, I think it has an inactivity kick. I'd leave that off unless we are always full ...
Fumanchu and I were tearing it up ... - Can nade indicators be turned off? - can the respawn delay be lowered to zero?
I guess we'll stick with AWE4 1.2 for now. Until Shark wants to get 2.0? Yeah, for now, we just need to tweek the weapons to hardcore. The running speed for certain classes. plus what adogg said.
Adogg was strafing so fast that I had to lead him a good foot to hit him. Yea, we just need to hardcore-ize the settings and it should be good. No last stand and martyr is excellent, but there goes my kill count... Well, Fuzzy will be happy
Pretty much have the same setting like last time: Assault and SpecOps with faster running speed. Not too much. Because right now we're running pretty fast. Heavygunner and the others normal running speed. make the guns stronger, like hardcore No Tommytubes, laststand, and martydoms. no chopper, if chopper make it weak. Get rid of the nade indicator and the green laser dot Harder to get uav like extreme mod.
Here is the release note for AWE 2.0 from Tally himself: Which mode should we go with when the mod is released... could be a couple weeks still...
Save-a-class would be fucking great. However, I can set up my guns and perks in about 4 seconds. It used to be a concern but not anymore. The whole reason for wanting a modded server is to customize the gameplay as much as possible. It seems to me that this could be better accomplished in Mode 2.
No martydom, please. Shark - I think I like Mode1 from your post above. I like the ranks and challenges but think having everything available right away is better. Plus it appears that the players can setup custom slots that are persistent too ...
You are correct Adogg... They custom slots will be persistent only for each server that you connect to. Which will make for some interesting issues...when connecting to other servers. The concept is that each mpdata (which remembers the custom slots and ranks) file will be connected to the Mod folder name...so... if mod folder names are different then ranks and slots will not be persistent. Which to me is not a big deal. Tally is waiting for the 1.5 Linux binaries to be completed before he releases the AWE4 2.0. Since 70% of COD4 server are run on Linux, he does not want to cut out potentially 70% of his users. But, he may release the beta to some. I will attempt to ask for them on the raiders forum. Tally is a narcissistic douche (kind of like Butzie... ), so we will see. So it could be a couple of more weeks before we see the AWE4 2.0 release.
Yes he is. Does he even work on this mod or does he just steal it from others ... I wouldn't be surpirsed if it is the second one.
Unless he is fooling everyone at Raiders (and everyone that looks to raiders for the AWE mod) then he is in fact the original coder. Although he does give credit for a lot of people in helping him...He appears to be the mastermind behind it.
i dunno, all the cod2 mods were pieced together from different smaller mods to me, it looks like a lot of awe came directly from extreme (including much plagiarism in the config files, see maprotation for example)
Yeah it does look like Xtreme... But there are a bunch of "awe" specific dvars in the config files...
how hard is it to replace all ex_ with awe_ in a batch of files? anyway, we use it for ctf/b, and i updated it to work with mp_hackers and mp_village_night you can add ctfb for any map that has the gsc in their iwd http://forums.raidersmerciless.com/showthread.php?t=3543 add the new gsc to uan_svr_awe4.iwd /maps/mp/ you dont have to restart the server, just replace the svr_iwd on the redirect and gameserver, rcon g_gametype and change the map
