Hello all I thoroughly enjoy your server, however I'd like to offer a suggestion. It's your server and your rules but with the new patch coming out and MAV being fixed how bout disallowing it in your server. I for one get quite annoyed when others do it. I know mortar can balance it, but unfortunately mortar is not a one shot one kill unless you get extremely lucky. Today in the server there were a few people complaining about it. The ones who were not complaining were, for the most part, the ones exploiting. Thanks for listening to my rant.
Thanks Colonelva for hopping on our forums to provide some insight for us. At this point we're not going to start kicking players for using the MAV to get atop of buildings. We have allowed it since it was first discovered and it has been widely acceptable among most servers. Only until DICE announced they were going to patch it some servers began kicking/banning for it. Also we don't want to be such an uptight community where we are policing and nanny'n every little thing (if we were to kick for exploiting the MAV, we would be kicking someone every minute or two). In reality the MAV exploit is rather minor and really doesn't provide a sniper with much advantage. When atop a building they're easily spotted and when they use a spawn beacon or leave their MAV up they stand out like a star on a Christmas tree. You can pummle them with tank/APC rounds or snipe them yourself. You essentially always know where they are on the map. The upcoming patch is coming out in a matter of days more or less, so the MAV exploit wont be an issue very soon
agreed. it's very easy to deal with snipers on building. especially since you always know where they are, they have no idea where you are (depending on the size of the map). on large maps like Karkand, you can counter snipe any mav riders from pretty much anywhere on the outer edges of the map. you can get several shots off before they can hone in on your position. but of course, if you are good, you only need 1. on something smaller like metro, any assault or LMG in addtion to sniping can take care of roof snipers really quick, again, if you're a good enough shot. and dont forget mortars. chances are you wont kill them in one mortar hit. but they are gonna duck for cover after being hit once and there's a good chance you are gonna take out their spawn beacon if you spam in a couple places. dont forget that mortars have explosive AND smoke rounds. hardly no one uses smoke rounds.
DICE announced they were going to patch the Mav? WTF? What a bunch of Bastards i love the Mav glitch.

MAV exploit sucks hard it should have been patched a long time ago from the first weeks the game was released.
