More info on CoD2 ...

Here's something I found out about CoD2. It's from a developer answering some comments from a person who watched the E3 trailer. It's all from single player but here we go:

You haven't had a chance to experience it by actually playing the game yet how can you dislike it?

This is a gameplay feature that enhances the flow of gameplay. When you have a health pack/heal bar system there are two ways a player will play.

1. The player will play through the game until low health. Once low health has been reached the player will fall back and look for health packs in areas that he has already killed all the enemies.

2. The player will push forward with an unmatched level of intensity. Knowing that you are only a few hits away from death you play a much different and intense way.

Now for 1 that disrupts the natural flow of gameplay and slows it down. It totally removes anything that the level designer was trying to accomplish. With 2 you just flat out have a great experience and it is that much more enjoyable.

From all of the previews that we have done, the kleenex testing, and focus testing everyone has expressed that they feel it is a much more intense experience without a health bar.

On a personal level I love the new health system. When I go back and play CoD1 and UO it is annoying to have to mess around with health packs.

They only show up when a friendly has made visual contact after the enemy has fired on them. The dot remains on the screen for a very short period.

It will require a slight change is playstyle, yeah. But overall it feels much better removing hud elements to keep you immersed in what is going on around you.

I like the sound of having no hud or life bar.It makes the game play more realisim and it keep you on your toe's.Some may not like it but i'm one of the ones that do. I can't wait to get my hand's on cod2 now.

no hud? I have my doubts.....
