I have had a few requests to remake my cod2 map mp_fuzion for cod4. I spent a little time today working on it and here is a video of the results so far. If any of you have ideas to make the "ice" textures more visible, let me know. I have already put a darkening decal over them, but I still want more contrast and I'm out of ideas. No screenshots yet, there isn't much to see without video.
as far as the ice goes.. put a real light clean snow alpha layer against it..you will have 2 layers, 1 ice, 1 extremely light snow. just a theory, but it should get the semi-whiteness from the snow and still have the full texture look of ice.. cant really say how good it looks, cuz i cant really see too much structure in it yet.. i will be awaiting your answers
been working on this one a little more, added some snow and other stuff: the bright white blocks are gonna be jump pads once i figure out how to get more than one per map
come check out this map on the test server please report any bugs or suggestions here also, i would appreciate any screenshots of it along with the freezetag mod in action thanks
was testing this out yesterday with, adogg, shark, fu, ultra and art... pretty good stuff so far man, really like the concept of it, just a few things that i thought id let u know that were on my mind when playin it... pistol only rounds seem alot more fun, defrosting is maybe a tad bit too long, might wanna try and make the games abit longer thats why choosing weapons at the start, i cant seem to choose my custom weapons the blue trailer that is given when defrosting gives the game away bit too much where you are, should be allow to snipe from a further distance, i dont know about everyone else but i seem to be using all the lowest graphics settings that i can just to even run the game without too much jerkyness but i think thats maybe why i cant see the steps on the map itself.
hehe, well, you'll get used to it... or not anyway, the map plays well, even on lower end hardware (from what ive heard) cletus?
well, it could be a bit better.. altho i havent really played user maps before.. i mean, considering i get around 50 fps in a stock map, and only 65-70 on yours.. i dunno.. probably still pretty good you need to patch up some holes in the ground that you can see under the map, as well as make sure all the stairs are visible.. pretty much just simple texturing.. all in all, i dont see a problem with the layout, just with a few textures..
