Im looking at upgrading soon, but what my wish on newegg is now.. is expensive as CRAP! so.. my current wish list consists of..... core i7 920 Cooler Master V10 EVGA x58 board 6 gigs DDR3 1600 2 x HIS ATI 4890 Turbo's 1200W PSU Antec 1200 24" Monitor or maybe a 28" Monitor?? with the 24" the total is a little under $1800 any suggestions to make this cheaper? If someone were to ask why i want this much power i usually say for all my adobe stuff.. which it is. but seriously. i want to woop ass with a nice computer. so... if you could build something with good power for less, what would it be?
One thing you might wanna think about since you are gonna be using this for more then just gaming is multiple monitors. I've got 2x 22 inch monitors and I'll never go back to just one, I'm actually thinking about getting a third..
yeah the 24" is cheap enough i might buy one now... and get a second when im done. seriously thinking about the purchase being made... within the next couple days. come to think of it. i wonder if i put my 9600 GSO in the comp for the second display. since it is going to be for... not gaming atleast.
true but the cross fire on the main and the nvidea for the secondary... well that is IF there isn't driver issues. i better not try this one.
nice. now thats something i'd expect from you. but i retaliate with this statement sir. can it run crysis?
amd for less then half the price i would also only buy a video card with modern specs not advanced that are overpriced. You really don't get your money for a card that is 300 vs 200 less ram isn't super important, but if you do want to cut some fat that is a good area and the pc tower is too expensive but its your money. btw ati sucks get nvidia nvidia cmon
i have never had a problem with nvidia, but ati has been nothing but a cunt. the software interface and possibly hardware interface with ati is just fucked
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Butzie @ Aug 23 2009, 09:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div> actually the single player is pretty awesome, and i would start over playing it again with the new system in a heartbeat. its the multi player that sucks. and yes red. you are more biased than any radio politics talk show host. I have never had problems with ATI in the past when i owned their cards. this current one is my first nvidea. the 4890 isn't any more expensive then any other companies so it is current specs and are pretty nice. and coming from someone i know's mouth as for how it run. its pretty damn good as well. this card benchmarks JUST behind the gtx 285. but gets 3 in top cards for being cheaper. as for the AMD. never owned nor was a fan. intel has always proven themselves pretty good. and if i WERE to go with AMD. i would deff. get ATI cards. since they would be assured to work flawlessly together. thanks for the link though. it might change things up.
im running a amd core with nvidia card and everything snapped together since both are very compatible and @ butzie
lrn2notfail, fag. Don't benchmark your system based on Crysis. I can run Crysis and it is playable. I can't run GTA4, CoD:WAW, or many other high-end games that I own but can't fucking play.
well i want something that can play all high when i want to. which is pretty much all the time. plus i looked at the combo deals for that and another AMD chip. the boards that come with them, are usually crappy by the reviews. a lot of 50% i like it but it didn't post or needed to RMA for a crap first board. so im back on the intel track unless you can prove a better combo. although the combo's for the intel boards.. are pretty good. and a 24" monitor to boot wouldn't be bad.
On the new Crysis with my 4870's.. I run all "very high" with AA off. and I get 40-50 fps. with AA maxed also I get about 20fps, with slight lag but not bad, But I think my CPU is what is bottlenecking me.
The second Crysis was the one that got my PCs panties in a bunch, when it started snowing :\ The rest of the time, I was all high!
i had a weak moment before i went to work. i almost compulsivly bought the mobo and core i7 combo. for 550.. and a monitor for 200 almost spending 750 bucks.... i need a vacation from the internet.
