On my old rig the CPU was pegged at 99% CPU usage at all times, It was caught in a loop that drained all cpu cycles to it, Bout killed me to find a cure. Then out of sheer luck, when I shut down the USB controller, the probs ended, Only for a while though. The MB was dying. I got a few more months out of it,less USB, then she was done, no post no nothing. But it does sound like your ISP. / best of luck // hey
Here we go: Installed a few resource monitor this weekend. When the stuttering occurs, both cores of the CPU are at or near 100% usage. I think I don’t have enough processor. Killing the extra processes make the problem less apparent. It would seem that I need more than an AMD X2 5200. It’s rated at 2.6 GHz, but maybe it’s not enough. Anyone running that processor and having this issue?
Might just be from a shitty batch if thats at all possible, I'm running the dual core 5000+ and have no issues with mine.

No...it should idle at 0% Do what Butzie said...and this time use Acronis or Ghost to make an image of a clean install on a separate HDD. It makes it super easy to revert back to a known "clean" install.
Also when I have 2 Firefox's open and Winamp I get around 4%-10% CPU Busy thingy but when I play CoD4 for example mostly 99%, that normal?
not normal depending on your CPU.. which considering you are able to run cod4 at all, no its not normal you should only be getting 20-30% tops on a lower-end CPU, i would say about 5-10 on firefox and winamp..
Yah, thats a nice CPU, should take COD4 and then some. Listen to Butz Shark, and Strudels. Back up your shit wipe clean and reinstall OS. That has 99% chance of success. If still a prob, it has to be Hardware,or drivers not up to date, but I doubt it. /best of luck
