Im playing Zeus, and decide to quit. When I do all my desktop icons have dissappeared, just the text is there So i go to reboot, and the fucker wont boot. I can get in safe mode and nothing else. Any ideas? Windows hangs right after the black screen and the log in screen. PS. FUUUCCKK! Thanks for your time.
Fixed! In safe mode I went into admin tools, event viewer, and the logs showed a bad HD block was causing the AMD K8 driver to not load. Ran a complete scan disk, and all is back to normal. She-yit!
Thanks guys very much. Before i would have reformatted i would have run SD as standard protocall, but to find out what exactly happened and why i guess gave me satisfaction, as opposed to doing a bunch of stuff then it just "worked again". I fix all my buds boxes, but when something happens to mine I get stumped.
meh, it's quicker to reinstall XP takes me 20 minutes from format to install and have up and running with all my drivers.
