ranked + custom maps - mod = winrar

i found a way to run custom maps using our current ranked hardcore config
basically we will need to create a map pack because redirecting doesnt work

your task is to find the BEST maps for the map pack and put them here
i dont want to have to test your maps, so make sure they are very good

I tried your test mappack with sharkey's map in there and the icon worked and all connecting to our server. Pretty cool there and fairly dummy proof.

I'm thinking there might be a problem with people running cod4 versions other than english. Since your installer plops the .ff files into zone\english, this might not work if they're running spanish or french or whatever since they probably will need to be in zone\spanish, etc. I'm just guessing cuz I recall someone running into this kind of problem with one of them patches before.

We probably should have one of our mexican members running cod4 en espanol to test it out and report their results.

looks like we'll have to figure something out, i hope to have a simpler, smaller program out soon that will download and update the maps directly from the website... and perhaps check to see if they have another language other than english in their zone folder

We also don't want every other Joe Schmo to be able to do it.

A test server WAS running at 146:28962, but it appears to have been turned off...
Hannes is working on a Top Secret Uber Elite mechanism to ensure everyone has the maps up to date, rather than downloading map packs like the one above.
