What you think about the trench shotgun?

That's true fabzz, yesterday evening, last night, most people didnt say anything about the shotgun except "oh it's gone?" or "good, ginally." Even then, there wasn't a whole lot saying that.

I was on late last night though, and shortly before I left, several started saying things like "well it's dumb, I hate the other German guns, I'm done playing here, this server is useless now." I encouraged those with issues, (either glad that it's gone, or upset), to come here and leave their opinions and read others' before they flip their lid.

Mostly, the only people that complain are the 'loud mouths' just like real life. They might not represent the majority, but they sure get noticed. No one really stood up for the shotty when all the complaints were going on. I'll bet it had a lot to do with the fact that they just didnt want to engage with talking to an aggressive 'bully.'

Also, fabzz has mentioned before that debates should be saved for the forum. I've let this slip a few times and engaged for a little bit during the game. Just want to apologize to those who had to deal with our messages flying back and forth, and encourage everyone that if you have something you think is important, say it here please.

Put the Thompson up against the slow firing MP44 and who wins?? You could sing one verse of a Backsteet Boys song between shots with the MP44.

I thiink the shotgun is ok, but only if the range is cut down......I've had people hit and kill me with it when I was on the edge of the thompson's range, which is extremely unrealistic....I realize this isn't a sim game but come on let's take some basic ballistics into account here

my thoughts on the shotgun: the shotgun is not a noob weapon... it is like any other gun... it has its strenghts and its weakness's.... its a very differant gun tactically... it may be annoying to get pwned up close... but its just as annoying being snipped... i love the shotgun, i like using the shotgun tactics.... i own a shotgun, and thereofore am slightly biased.... like the other guy said... if you're getting pwned by a shotgunner... fall back... keep some distance, and you can take him out even easier then other players, he's defensless... if your used to killing people up close with a rifle, then the shotgun could be your worst enemy... CHANGE YOUR TACTICS... DONT BAN THE WEAPON.... i personally see it as immature to ban the weapon, lame servers like ER do that... i like UAN cause it had it... thanks for keeping it, PLEASE keep it
btw, people dont defend the shotgun because its CONSTANTLY being said the shotgun is a noob weapon... nobody wants to be associated with noobs...

Take it out already. It's frustrating to the point where I'm disgusted of playing.

I like using it when the gravity is low and you guys are flying around. It's like shooting ducks, haha.

PS; there have been several times in the game where if I was using the shotgun and didn't switch to an SMG, most of you would have lived. It's only advantage is up-close, and only if you dont miss. You have a much better chance of survival with someone firing one shot at you than you do with 30 flying everywhere.

The shotgun takes skill, more skill than say.... spraying with a submachine gun that a lot of people do. Of coruse, sometimes you get killed with it from quite a distance, and the shotty can be annoying. But people getting frustrated because of the shotgun to me is no reason to take it out of the game. It adds something extra to it. Or else everyone would be spraying thousands of bullets every single game...

So i like the shotgun... let's keep it!

aphex, any of the weapons can be used skillfully. The shotgun can be used VERY unskillfully and cause lots of insane damage. The skill needed to use a shotgun is on par with the skill needed to clean my shoes or wash my car. The skill needed to use a machine gun, an mp44 say, is more on par with riding a bucking bronco or pillaging a nearby village.

What I am trying to say is I think there is a place for the shotgun in the game and I think all the shotgun users should get together and have a friggin tea party where they can all discuss things they have in common like which sniper is the cutest or how little wrist pain you have now that you use a weapon the requires no movement.

I think shotgun users are about as womanly as they come. I use to feel the same way about snipers or guys who just sit on a the big mgs all day but now I can see their more masculin side.
